Situations of armed conflict often force people to flee areas when violence erupts. Persons with disabilities can be at higher risk of harm during fighting. Human Rights Watch research in Cameroon, Central African Republic, Israel/Palestine, Syria, and South Sudan found that persons with disabilities faced several difficulties fleeing armed attacks on their communities.
