Qatar Charity distributes Ramadan baskets in Pakistan

 With the support of donors in Qatar and through its office in Pakistan, Qatar Charity continues to distribute thousands of food baskets to vulnerable groups such as orphans, and Afghan refugees.This aid falls within the framework of the Qatar Charity campaign (Ramadan of Hope), and the distributions were carried out in coordination with government officials. The number of beneficiaries exceeded 45,000 residents and Afghan refugees, and the distribution included different areas in the provinces of Sindh, Punjab, and Baluchistan.Difficult situationIn the Peshawar region, 12,600 Afghan refugees benefited from the assistance provided by Qatar Charity, and it was very welcomed by the refugees who expressed their need for these food baskets, especially since most of the refugees do not have a stable source of livelihood and cannot afford food expenses during the month of Ramadan.For his part, the Chairman of the Afghan Committee in the Khyber region, Mr. Muhammad Abbas, expressed his appreciation and thanks for the efforts of charitable donors in favor of Afghan refugees in Pakistan during the holy month, especially as Afghan refugees live in difficult economic conditions.Ms. Shabiba Bibi, an Afghan refugee in the Peshawar camp, who lives with her five children, said that her children are very young and she is the only breadwinner for them as she works as a domestic worker, but her income is not enough to meet their basic needs, adding that during Ramadan she cannot find work.Shabiya expressed her gratitude to Qatar Charity for providing her with food aid and added:"My kids are happy now; you put a smile on their faces again."She also thanked the donors in Qatar and said I am praying for them during this holy month for their generous donations.Zabihullah, an Afghan refugee from Peshawar camp who works as a driver, said Afghan refugees are suffering from economic problems and we cannot find good job opportunities and therefore we cannot support our families properly and often we only have one meal a day.Local authoritiesMeanwhile, he benefited from the Ramadan food baskets distributed by Qatar Charity32, 529 people from Pakistan and several local personalities participated in the distribution operations in the Khyber region, including Ms. Maliha Sahar, the assistant commissioner of the region, who thanked the people of Qatar for their continuous support during the month of Ramadan.For his part, Mr. Saber Hussain Maher, Assistant Commissioner in the Sindh region, participated in the distribution operations in the region and said that he greatly appreciates this step, which includes a lot of professionalism and quality control of the materials provided to people affected by drought and malnutrition.In Punjab, Deputy Commissioner of the Region, Mr. Shahid Joya, and Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, Mr. Azhar Abbas, praised the efforts made by Qatar Charity to help the poor and the needy.Beneficiaries' happinessMrs. Subhan Khatun, one of the Pakistani benefiting from the assistance provided by Qatar Charity, said: "After the death of her husband, and despite her continuing to work and take care of her children, she is unable to feed them twice a day."She added that she is grateful to Qatar Charity for filling this important gap for her children, which she considered a blessing for her to feed her children.
