Tsunami Disasters: Guidelines
This Collection is part of the 'Tsunami disaster channel', where after such a disaster, affected families will inevitably have to rebuild not only their homes but also their livelihoods. There is a lack of support from the international community to help guide families into rebuilding their lives, as well as a lack of direction for how to futurproof their livelihhods and be less vulnarable to such disasters in the future. This Collection conatins a few guidlines, but we encourage the humanitarian community to link prevention and post-disasters guidlines with the goal to communicate such information to a much wider audience. Current guidance comes from leading global organizations: Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Swiss Resource Centre and Consultancies for Development Foundation (SKAT), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Please send suggestions for additional content for this Collection to firstname.lastname@example.org. You might find other helpful collections on tsunami disasters below."
